Telehealth Therapy Platform For Children

State-of-the-Art Telehealth Therapy Platform For Children with Potential Disability

Background

It is critical to provide proper medical intervention and at the right time for children born with disabilities or children at risk of developing disabilities without early intervention.

With proper and timely engagement, the results are superior, and families can save a lot on insurance and healthcare costs.

Our client helps companies and organizations with access to board-certified US-based physicians. They wanted a platform that can help families facing such grave situations to seek treatment of their kids most conveniently and cost-effectively.

Challenges and Opportunities

Since each US state has its regulations about providing early intervention services using federal funds, it leads to confusion and complexity. The process of getting medical help is almost entirely manual (90-95%), making the transactions involve cumbersome paperwork and prone to errors.

Here are the chief challenges:

  • No provision for teletherapy sessions
  • No provision for digitizing therapy notes and other documentation
  • Automated scheduling and reminders
  • Enhancing user experience
  • Time taking procedures
  • Manual transactions
  • Costly processing
  • Error-prone documentation
  • Poor agility
  • Lack of transparency wrt. cost, process status and approval

Our Solution

We proposed an Early Intervention Services platform for the parents whose children have been born with disabilities or are at the risk of developing disabilities. Here are the features of the platform:

  • The system is HIPAA compliant.
  • Secure access to therapy participants: family, therapist, and interpreter/translators.
  •  The platform is available in both web and mobile app form and supports a three-way video therapy session with the therapist, Interpreter/Translator and the family.
  • The chat feature helps participants work towards better outcomes.
  • Automated documentation of each session: start/end time, date, duration etc.
  • The platform will also support case note sharing between the therapist and the family.
  • The family will have the option of reviewing the case notes and accepting the same by digital signoff/acknowledgement.
  • The platform also allows the family to clear their concerns by asking questions in text, video or audio formats.
  • The platform will also make available the video recording of the sessions for reference at a later date.
  • Record keeping of case notes and history for cross-referencing between therapists
