“Developing Buoyancy of Solutions in Data World”

About Datathon

Roughly minutest data has been understood and interpreted in the form of information in this data world. With the large amount of data growing every day, we all learned that analytics and big data became the rage. Enterprises are moving towards developing better digital solutions with data science and engineering and implementing data in real-life use cases.

The year 2022 is up and running in front of you, so let’s start the collective bang of the “Chhattisgarh Datathon”. For winners to run the Marathon, Techment Technology brings 36Datathon this June, in Golden Tower, NIT Raipur, to bring forth young data engineers and scientists. They will be coming up with their data modeling skills in various domains, surprising the domain experts with what solutions they can bring to the table.

This Marathon will bring unparalleled learnings and memorable experiences to its participants. So get your thinking caps on, as we present the technical event where participants have to develop working prototypes in data science.

This 20 days Marathon will challenge participants with problems in the different aspects of real-life i.e., healthcare, retail, finance, edtech, etc.

“To transform the ideas of young Turks into achievements and turn a challenge into realized opportunity”

The overall purpose of the planned Datathon is to encourage innovation in the use of Data Science & Engineering and bring forth technically competent solutions to enhance customer experience digitally with emerging technologies like blockchain, edge computing, IoT, AI/ML, etc. We want to connect with techies who transform the fitful transition of data into action.

Participants would propose and build:

  • To solve challenges that appear in the real world of data.
  • To encourage young techies to expand their capabilities around data engineering.

Eligibility & Participation

  • Only students from Chhattisgarh are eligible to take part in the event.
  • This datathon is open for all students who look forward to accepting the challenge in data science and engineering projects.
  • Everyone pursuing their degree can take part in the competition.
  • Each team will have only 3 members.
  • None of the two or more teams should have the same/ similar projects, else both teams will be eliminated.

This will be 20 days Marathon where:

  • To solve challenges that appear in the real world of data.
  • To encourage young techies to expand their capabilities around data engineering.

Problem Statements:

Title: Forecasts health risks to various populations of people.

The healthcare industry produces large amounts of healthcare data daily that can be used to extract information for predicting diseases that can happen to a patient in the future while using the treatment history and health data.

The major challenge in the healthcare industry is how to extract the information from this data because the amount is very large so some data mining and machine learning techniques can be used. Also, the expected outcome and scope of this project is that early prediction would beget early prevention and care, which can reduce the risk of life and save the cost of treatment.

Problems to Focus:

  • Women’s Health Issues/Gender Based Health Issues: Ill health of women is mainly due to poor nutrition, gender discrimination, marriage at a young age, risk factors during pregnancy, unsafe, unplanned, and multiple deliveries, limited access to family planning methods,s and unsafe abortion services. Ill health of men should not be avoided. Various factors affect men’s health due to stress in work-life which causes problems like strokes and heart attack at an early age, diabetes, etc.
  • Age-wise Health Issues: Youth suffer from health-impacting behaviors and conditions that need the urgent attention of policy makers and public health professionals. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the most prominent among those above 45.
  • Health Issues Based on Food Habits:A new study shows how the things you eat can influence your risk of dying from heart disease, stroke, or type 2 diabetes. According to the analysis, nearly half (45%) of deaths in 2012 from these 3 diseases were associated with too much or too little of these 10 dietary factors.
  • Mental Health:Mental health is an integral part of health; it is more than the absence of mental illnesses. It is the foundation for the well-being and effective functioning of individuals. It includes mental well-being, prevention of mental disorders, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  • Climate Based Health Issues: Due to changes in climate conditions, global warming, deforestation, air quality, extreme weather events, quality and quantity of water, food security, and safety people suffer from health issues.
  • Health System Capacity & Resilience: The health care system is one of the important pillars in a country’s development, where the health workforce, healthcare information system, medical products, and advanced technologies play a major role.

This datathon will inspire CG’s youth to challenge real-world problems.
